Let’s share our experiences
Bird Protection League Refuge
Discovery
The open-air hotel Le Phare is located in several biodiversity reserves of coastal environments and wetlands specific to the island of Ré.
With 218 inventoried species, the island of Ré is a paradise for birds, which represent a great faunistic interest.
Since 1921, the ‘Refuge LPO’ programme has been offering concrete actions in favour of biodiversity. A ‘Refuge LPO’ is a public (green space or municipal park) or private land (garden, courtyard, terrace, balcony, etc.) on which the owner undertakes to preserve and protect nature in the broad sense: fauna, wild flora, soil and environment.
Situated at the heart of an important migratory axis connecting Africa, the wintering area and all the breeding areas from northern Canada to Siberia, the Ile de Ré is the convergence point for birds travelling to France in autumn.
Numerous species representing medium to high ecological challenges have been seen here, such as the blue-breasted grosbeak, the greenfinch or even the dune grasshopper. So, open your eyes wide and listen carefully to appreciate the pleasant, soft trill of the linnet.
Collection Rivages is stepping up its efforts to protect the environment.
Are you multiplying your efforts and making small gestures for the planet? So are we! Through our policy for the protection of local fauna and flora, we are committed to increasing our environmental actions : late mowing, installation of feeders and nests for endangered birds and bats, planting of local species, management of lighting and energy consumption... it remains the best way to contribute to the well-being of the planet and its inhabitants.
