Heroic and mouth-watering – cultivated with love
The Ile-de-Ré potato was first cultivated to feed the island’s inhabitants. After the Second World War and challenges with the vineyards, the potato has become remarkably popular. This tuber, which has a slightly sweet taste and salty skin, has become the island's primary agricultural output and has since been awarded the Appellation d’Origine Protégée (AOP) label
